the city's dying

Look around - pray for the scales to fall...
their city is dying
and everyone is lying
they dont realize that they should be crying
the city is dying
everyone is suckling the great whore greed
everyone is for me first
everyone "me first!"
they suckle till the shame drains away
and all thats left is a great fear of not getting more
they fear that the teat will grow dry
- that that is why they'll die
the city is dying now
and no one is crying
no one is trying
they all laugh
laugh in my face
at the thought of some race
I say "you better start runnin"
they laugh till their sides split
they bleed without realizing
their life spills onto the street
lays in little trash cans spread across the fine USA
their life
their life so bleached theres really nothing left
they visit the doctor daily to keep their face intact
where is your hope o generation of walking dead?
your skeleton children keep rythm with your hollow steps
the light isnt light but a growing cloud of darkness
your eyes dimm but you dont even know it
you smell
you really smell
but you wear it as if the deepest finest nard
the streets are covered with your litter
all of yal together tramping right on through
and leaving more behind
but you dont even seem to notice
you dont even seem to notice
you dont even seem to notice
your city's dying
